Four members of The United People's Democratic Front's (UPDF) Prasit Khisa Group, were reportedly shot dead by rivals in Panchhari Upazila of of Khagrachhari last night (December 11).

The incident took place in Fatehpur area of Ward No. 9.

The deceased are - Democratic Youth Forum central organizing secretary Vipul Chakma, Khagrachari district vice-president Liton Chakma, PCP vice-president Sunil Tripura and UPDF member Ruhinsa Tripura.

On behalf of UPDF Prasit Khisa Group, Angya Chakma claimed that the shooting was carried out by armed men of the UPDF Democratic Front, a breakaway faction.

He said that people of the rivals killed them after entering the house. At that time, two people including former central leader of Pahari Chhatra Parishad, Hari Kamal Tripura, were abducted.

For this incident, the UPDF, led by Prasit, demanded justice for the murder. 

However, no statement was received from the UPDF Democratic Font side.

Khagrachari Police Superintendent Mukta Dhar, however, said that the matter could not be confirmed immediately.
