At least four persons were killed and four others sustained as two private cars collided head-on in Rupganj of Narayanganj.

The deceased could not be identified immediately, said Rupganj police.

The incident happened at Bhuiyan Bari Bridge area of Purbachal Expressway around 9 am on Tuesday (December 12).

Rupganj police station sub-inspector (SI) Md. Shahin confirmed the matter.

He said in the morning, two private cars collided in the Bhuiyan Bari Bridge area of Purbachal Expressway. Later, pedestrians rushed the injured to Kurmitola Hospital. 

“However, the doctor declared three people dead. I learned that five people are receiving treatment in the hospital,” the official added.

According to Kurmitola General Hospital sources, pedestrians brought the injured to the hospital. Later, the doctor declared three people dead. Two seriously injured was referred to Dhaka Medical College where another person died.
