GAZIPUR: Three people, including a woman and her son, were killed and three others injured in a road accident near Salna bridge on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway on Sunday morning.

Of the deceased, one was identified as Md Uzzal of Thrishal upazila of Mymensingh while the identity of the mother-son could not be known immediately.

Injured Emdadul Haque, also brother of deceased Uzzal, said a Mymensinngh-bound CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a bus in the area at around 8:00am, leaving six Auto-rickshaw passengers injured critically.

The injured were rushed to Gazipur Sadar Hospital where residential medical officer (RMO) Tapon Kanti Sarker deaclared three of them dead.
