Massive search at Dhaka entry points

DHAKA: Dhaka-bound people are facing excessive search by law enforcers at every entry point of the capital on Sunday ahead of the opposition’s program ‘March for Democracy.

Putting check posts and barricades on streets, law enforcers are checking the suspected people and vehicles including rickshaw, CNG, Taxi cab and passersby. Even ambulance, motorbike and media vehicles also remained under police search.

Banglanews Correspondents from Kanchpur report:

Additional police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel and detectives were on alert position to avoid any untoward situation.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Nurul Amin who discharging duties in Signboard area told banglanews, “On information, we are searching suspected persons and vehicles in the area.”

Correspondents from Abdullapur report:

Law enforcers could not allow anyone to enter Dhaka without identity cards.

Meanwhile, suspected ordinary people also were seen checking by law enforcers.

Correspondents from Savar reports:

Law enforcers put barricade on Dhaka-Aricha highway, Nabinagar-Chandra highway and Abdullahpur-Bipile bypass to prevent any subversive activities.

Wishing anonymity an official of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) told banglanews, “Apprehending subversive activities centering Nayapaltan mass rally, we are searching all sans any harassment.”

Uttara Dokkhin Khan Thana Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Salauddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
