Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman today (December 19) said pro-hartal activists and blockaders responsible for setting fire to a passenger train that killed four people.

The DMP commissioner made the allegation while visiting at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

He said, “I believe those imposing hartal and blockades are responsible for the arson attack, as they have carried out similar attacks before.”

The perpetrators of the arson attack will not go unpunished, as they have not in the past, said the DMP commissioner.

At least four people including a mother and her son were killed as miscreants set three compartments of Dhaka-bound Mohanganj Express train on fire in the city's Tejgaon early today.
