Police recovered the dead bodies of two youths near India’s border in Godagari of Rajshahi.

The bodies were recovered from Char Hanumantnagar area of Char Ashariadah Union of the upazila around 10 am on Saturday (December 23).

The deceased were identified as - Kawsar Ali, 18, son of Shukuddi of Char Kanapara area of Godagari upazila of Rajshahi and Mosharraf Hossain, 19, son of Atiqul Islam.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajshahi's Godagari Model Police Station Abdul Motin confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

He said on December 19, some Bangladeshis illegally tried to go to Chennai for agricultural work. Sensing illegal entry India’s Border Security Force (BSF) chased them.

However, everyone managed to escape the scene but two people were missing. Later, this morning Kawsar and Mosharraf’s body were recovered from Padma River.

Details will be provided after autopsy report, he said, adding legal action will be taken in this regard.
