At least four people were killed after Balaka Commuter train hit a sand-laden truck in Mymensingh Sadar on Monday (December 25).

The accident happened in Char Raghurampur area around 1:30pm.

Following the incident, train communication on the Mymensingh-Bhairab and Netrokona route remained suspended.

According to locals, some passengers were sitting in front of the train's engine. Of them, three were killed on the spot and several injured in the accident. They were admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

Mymensingh Kotwali Police Station OC Md. Main Uddin confirmed the matter. 

Police members are trying to recover the bodies, the official added.
