Five coaches of a Chittagong-bound freight train have derailed on the Dhaka-Mymensingh route in Uttara Courtbari area of the capital today (December 25).

However, no casualties were reported in the incident that took place around 9:20 am.

As soon as the freight train reached the south side of Tongi Railway Bridge in the area, five coaches on the up line of the train suddenly derailed, said Tongi Railway Police Outpost SI Choton Sharma.

With the help of the railway rescuers team and police, the movement of trains on the down line is operating smoothly right now, the official added.
