Incumbent lawmaker and Awami League nominated candidate for Chattogram-16 (Banshkhali) constituency Mustafizur Rahman Chowdhury was sued for violating electoral code of conduct and assaulting journalists.

Banshkhali Upazila Election Officer Mohammed Harun Molla filed the case accusing 20-30 other unidentified accused with the court of Chattogram Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jewel Dev on Tuesday, said Chattogram Metropolitan Public Prosecutor Sheikh Iftekhar Saimul Chowdhury.

The court summoned the accused to appear by January 3.
