A report by Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) said among 1,896 participating candidates in the upcoming 12th National Parliamentary Elections 18 people each have assets of more than Tk 100 crore. 

TIB shared the report at an event titled "Election Affidavits Information: What Message Is It Conveying to the Public?", at its office in the capital on Tuesday (December 26).

Moreover, there is an increase in the number of candidates earning one crore taka annually. A total of 164 participating candidates earn one crore Taka annually, according to the candidates' affidavits submitted to the Election Commission (EC).

Candidates who have wealth more than Tk100 crores: 

1.    Golam Dastagir Gazi, has assets worth Tk 1,345.77 crores.
2.    S.A.K. Ekramuzzaman, has assets worth Tk 421.16 crores.
3.    Salman F Rahman, has assets has worth Tk 315.76 crores.
4.    Abu Zafar Mohammad Shafi Uddin, assets worth Tk 306.68 crores.
5.    Yusuf Abdullah Harun, assets worth Tk 277.61 crores.
6.    Dilip Kumar Agarwala, assets worth Tk 276.19 crores.
7.    Abdul Momin Mandal, assets worth Tk 253.24 crores.
8.    Gazi Gulam Mortaza, assets worth Tk 233 crores.
9.    Md. Shirajul Islam Mollah, assets worth Tk 174.1 crores.
10.  Sayeed Khokon, assets worth Tk 163 crorees.
11.  Abdul Kader Azad, assets worth Tk 156.39 crores.
12.  Afroza Bari, assets worth Tk 154.66 crores.
13.  Selima Ahmad, assets worth Tk 152.28 crores.
14.  Mahmuda Begum, assets worth Tk 130.42 crores.
15.  Md. Abdullah, assets worth 130.42 crores.
