Most voters in Faridpur-2 constituency have become united in support of independent candidate advocate Jamal Hossain Mia, also a leader of the ruling Awami League, ahead of the upcoming general election.

They are working for Jamal Hossain to make him emerge victorious in the constituency constituting Nagarkanda and Saltha upazilas. Most of the present and former chairmen have lent their support to Jamal Hossain.

As part of this, several thousand leaders and activists led by Atghar Union Parishad Chairman Shahidul Islam Khan Sohag have joined forces with Jamal Hossain. 

Earlier, two former Saltha Upazila Chairmen Delwar Hossain and Ohid Matubbar extended their support to Jamal Hossain. Besides, most of the local Awami League leaders are working in favour of him.

A meeting was organised marking the joining of Atghar Union Parishad Chairman Shahidul Islam Khan Sohag. The event was presided over by Council Chairman Shahidul Islam Khan. Advocate Jamal Hossain was present as the chief guest.

In his speech, Jamal Hossain said that the Faridpur-2 constituency did not witness any development.

“As a result, the image of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been tarnished. We should try to restore the good image. People should vote for those who can feel their pulse and who work for the development of the area. If I become an MP, I will do whatever is needed for the development of the area.”

Meanwhile, Jamal Hossain spent the whole day busy with electioneering. He held mass contacts and yard meetings at various places in Nagarkanda and Saltha upazilas.
