The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different operations in the last 24 hours till 6 am Saturday (December 30) arrested 36 persons for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.

Being informed, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, according to a statement issued by DMP today.

They seized 1,249 pieces of Yaba tablets, 3.59kg of hemp, 140gm of heroin, 3 pieces of crystal meth (Ice), and 168 bottles of foreign wine from their possessions, it also said. 

According to the statement, 26 cases were filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
