Beaumont Police have arrested one man and are looking for another in connection with the fatal shooting late Friday (December 29) night of a store clerk in Beaumont's north end.

Early Saturday morning, about three hours after the killing of a Bangladeshi national, police were able to arrest one of two suspects, Keandre Robinson,19, of Beaumont, according to a news release.

Police say that Robinson fatally shot store clerk, Sheikh Abir-Hossain, 34, of Beaumont, before stealing cigarettes.

No other items or cash were stolen according to police.

Robinson was arrested on a murder warrant in the 1600 block of Delaware just a few houses to the west of the store which is at the corner of Gulf and Delaware according to Morrow.

Officers are still searching for a second suspect who was also caught on surveillance video.

He was also armed with a handgun and was wearing black jeans and a black hoodie with "NERD" printed on the front.

Officers were sent to a reported shooting just after 10 p.m. at the Kris Food Mart at 3090 Gulf St. Friday night according to a news release from Beaumont Police.

When they arrived they found the body of Abir-Hossain according to the release.

Police investigating fatal shooting of Beaumont store clerk during robbery

Preliminary investigation revealed that Abir-Hossain was killed during an aggravated robbery according to Beaumont Police officer Haley Morrow.

Police began searching for two suspects they believed were on foot and fled to the south of the store. They released surveillance photos of both suspects and asked for the public's help in finding them.

Officers spoke to and released a man who they say was inside the store before the robbery and fatal shooting.

Officers credited multiple Crime Stoppers tips in helping their investigation and leading to the arrest of Robinson.

Robinson's bond was set at $800,000 by Jefferson County Precinct One Justice of the Peace Naomi Doyle.
