Members of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) arrested two leaders of banned militant outfit Neo-Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (Neo-JMB) from Demra area of the capital on Friday.

The arrestees are identified as top JMB leader Md Yusuf alias Yusuf Hujur and Md Jahirul Islam alias Jahir.

Md Asaduzzaman, DMP additional police commissioner (CTTC), disclosed the matter at a press conference at DMP Media Centre in the capital on Sunday (December 31) afternoon.

He said tiped-off, CTTC team conducted a drive in the area and arrested the two neo-JMB men. 

Ten detonators, two mobile handsets and three jihadi (Islamic uprising) books from their possession, he added.
