Election Commissioner Md Anisur Rahman on Tuesday (January 2) said Bangladesh will turn into a failed state if a free, fair, and acceptable parliamentary election is not held.
The election commissioner was speaking as the chief guest at a training programme for executive magistrates at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital.
He said, “Our only aim is to hold a free, fair, and impartial election. In any case, if we fail to do so, our country itself will turn into a failed state, since we will be isolated from the world.”
This election commissioner also said, “There will be maximum number of foreign observers in this election. Where they will go, it will be their choice. We will not impose on anyone.”
