HABIGANJ: Rail communication of Sylhet with other parts of the country resumed early Wednesday after a seven-hour halt due to derailment of a compartment of oil-laden train in Rashidpur under Bahubal upazila of the district.
Local sources said that a compartment of a Chittagong-bound train derailed in the area at around 5pm Tuesday which cut-off the rail link of Sylhet district.
On information, a rescue train from Akhaura station rushed to the spot and rescued the detailed train after seven hours efforts.
The rail services on Dhaka-Sylhet, Sylhet-Chittagong routes resumed at 12:10am.
Shayestaganj Junction Station Master Kazi Shahidul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
