A fire that broke out at Ukhiya camp of Cox’s Bazar on Sunday (January 7) midnight have gutted all the houses in five blocks of camp No. 5.
However, no casualties were reported.
According to the Chattogram fire service control room, a fire that broke out at 1:05 am was brought under control around 3 am.
Cox’s Bazar Fire Service Deputy Assistant Director Atish Chakma confirmed the matter.
All the houses in five blocks from 'A' to 'E' of Camp No. 5 were burnt in the fire. All the houses under 47 Majhis (leaders) in these blocks were burnt. It is said that an average of 150 houses are under a Majhi, the official added.
