Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal this morning (January 7) refused to reply regarding voters turnout in the polling centres.
He said, “I don't know anything about voter turnout. I came and cast my vote, that's all I know.”
He was talking to journalists outside a voting centre in capital's Shantinagar area after casting his vote at 8:30 am.
"I will request people to go and vote," he said, adding he was feeling good about the polls started across the country.
When asked about less voter presence, the CEC said, "I don't know about voter turnout. My job is to arrange voting."
“Our law and order forces will see who comes to vote, who doesn't, violence will happen or won't happen,” he said.
