The toes of Anu Muhammad, Prof of the Jahangirnagar University, were severed in a train accident in Dhaka's Khilgaon today (April 21) morning.

The accident took place at 10:00am. 

Soon after the accident, Anu Muhammad was taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital with injuries in his left leg.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital Resident Surgeon (Emergency) Dr Md Alauddin said, confirmed the matter.

Prof Anu Muhammad went to Phulbari in Dinajpur and on his way back to the capital, when the train stopped at Khilgaon Rail Crossing for a very short time, he tried to get down, but his leg went under the wheels of the train as it started running again and his toes were cut off.
