Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Haque today (April 22) said labour law will be amended keeping the scope of forming trade union in any factory.
The minister stated this to newsmen after holding a meeting with a US trade delegation at the secretariat in the capital.
He said, “They discussed with me the labour laws of Bangladesh, the rights of workers and what we are doing about it. Their important question was - What is the current state of the revision of the Bangladesh Labor Act, what is being done?”
“They wanted to know about 11 issues and how much progress has been made in this regard, they asked,” he said.
The minister said that labour rights are ongoing work. Workers' rights will increase by each passing day.
Stating that the US representatives have expressed their satisfaction regarding Bangladesh's labour laws and rights, the law minister said.
