Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has called Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) chairman Ali Akbar Khan for quizzing in connection to certificate trading.

Ali Akbar reached DB's Minto Road office in the capital around 11:50am on Tuesday (April 23).

DB chief Harun-or-Rashid confirming the matter said Ali Akbar's wife was arrested earlier for making thousands of fake certificates.

However, Akbar was made OSD from the post of chairman. He has been called to the DB for questioning. If his involvement in certificate trading is found, legal action will be taken against him, DB boss added.

Sehela Parveen, the wife of Ali Akbar Khan, was arrested and remanded for two days by DB police last Saturday for alleged involvement with the gang.

According to the DB, evidence had been found of money transactions between Sehela and a gang involved in making fake certificates, registration cards and admit cards of the Technical Education Board.
