The 46th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) preliminary examination was held in eight divisional cities of the country on Friday.

The two-hour examination started simultaneously at 10am at 215 centres in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chattogram, Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet, Rangpur, and Mymensingh cities.

As many as 3,38,000 candidates applied for the exam which was scheduled to be held on 9 March, but the test was postponed due to city corporation elections.

On 30 November 2023, the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) published the 46th BCS circular, seeking applications for 3,140 posts.
