The government on Sunday (April 28) said the supply of 1.30 crore sacrificial animals would be ensured during Eid-ul-Azha this year.
There is a sufficient stock of cattle in the country and the government has no plan to import cattle, Fisheries and Livestock Minister Md Abdur Rahman told reporters at a press conference at the secretariat in Dhaka.
“There were 1.25 crore sacrificial animals last year and of those 19 lakh remained unsold,” he said.
