Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today (April 28) predicted the prolonged heat wave may abate over the country from May 2 as rain is forecasted in Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram, Sylhet, and Mymensingh divisions.
Omar Faruq, a meteorologist at the BMD, said heavy rainfall is predicted over the middle, east, and southern parts of the country.
"Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram, Sylhet, and Mymensingh divisions may experience rain from 2 May, with a reduction expected on 3 and 4 May. Rainfall may increase again from 5 May. In addition, rainfall may increase and spread over the Rajshahi division from 5 to 6 May," he said.
