A fire broke out in Amarbunia area under Chandpai Range of Sundarbans East Forest Division in Bagerhat on Saturday (May 4) afternoon.

Kazi Mohammad Nurul Karim, divisional forest officer (DFO) of the Sundarbans East Forest Department confirmed the matter.

He said forest officials with the help of locals are trying to bring the blaze under control at Latiferchila of the forest.

A unit of fire fighters left the Moralganj station for the spot, he added.

But the reason behind the fire and the damage could not be known immediately. .
