2 ‘muggers’ killed in Ctg ‘gunfight’

CHITTAGONG: Two convicts of police killing case and ‘professional muggers’ were killed in ‘gunfight’ with cops at Beribadh in Halishahar of Chittagong Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Nasir, 25 and Razib, 25.

Sources said that acting on a tip off police went to the area to hold the convicts. Sensing the presence of police, the cohorts of Nasir and Razib opened fire aiming police. Later, in reply police fired back that triggered a gunfight between the two groups.  

At one stage, the duo caught in the line of fire, leaving them dead on the spot and others fled the scene.

Meanwhile, two police men were injured during the gunfight.

Metropolitan Additional Deputy Commissioner SM Tanvir Arafat confirmed the matter to banglanews.
