Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), the national university of Malaysia, today conferred an honorary doctorate degree on Bangladesh Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.
Yunus received the prestigious degree from the university’s chancellor at a ceremony held at the UKM auditorium in Kuala Lumpur.
According to UKM authorities, the honorary degree was awarded in recognition of Prof Yunus’s exceptional contribution to the advancement of social entrepreneurship.
Following the conferment, the Nobel laureate delivered a commemorative lecture to students, sharing insights on social innovation and sustainable development.
Upon his arrival at the venue in the morning, Yunus was warmly received by the chancellor of UKM. The event was attended by prominent Malaysian academics, policymakers, university faculty, students, and members of the Chief Adviser’s entourage.
