DHAKA: A man, who sustained burn injuries when election protesters attacked him, succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Bachchu Pradhania, 50, son of late Abdul Mazid Pradhania.

Earlier on January 6, miscreants attacked Bachchu at the middle point of Babur hat and Munshirhat area of Chandpur district while he was returning to his home from his father-in-law’s house, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he was rushed to DMCH with 49 percent burns where he breathed his last at around 6:00am.

Head of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of DMCH Burn Unit Assistant Professor Shah Alam Bhuiyan confirmed the matter to banglanews.
