The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted rain or thundershowers in all eight divisions in the next 24 hours, commencing 9am today (May 8).
“Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with hails at isolated places,” BMD said in its weather bulletin.
"Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country," it added.
Country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 35.0 degrees Celsius at Khepupara, and the minimum temperature today was 20.0 degrees Celsius at Hatiya.
Rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 51mm at Rajshahi.
The sun sets at 6:31 pm today and rises at 5:19 am tomorrow in the capital.
