The High Court (HC) today (May 8) suspended the lease notification for setting up cattle market in the capital's Aftabnagar on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.
An HC bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Kazi Zinat Haque passed the order.
That means, no cattle market to be set up in Aftabnagar, lawyers said after the HC order.
Senior lawyer Shah Manjurul Haque and lawyer SM Shamim Hossain were in favour of the application in the court.
Besides HC also issued a rule asking the authorities concerned why setting up cattle market in Aftabnagar residential area should not be declared illegal.
