Members of RAB have detained a main KNF militant, who is also involved in a string of bank robberies in April in Bandarban.

The court have sent Shanzu Khum Bom to jail after the police produced him at the Bandarban Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Thursday (May 10), according to RAB press release.

In his preliminary confession, Shanzu had admitted that he is a key member of the indigenous separatist group KNF. He is the president of KNF unit at Farukpara area of Bandarban Sadar upazila.

Shanzu has admitted he is involved in providing necessary supplies to KNF fighters active in different parts of Bandarban hill tracts. He has also confirmed his role in the kidnapping of a Sonali Bank branch manager, bank heists and snatching of weapons from law enforcers back in early April.
