The Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) has arrested seven members of a gang, for allegedly leaking the question papers of various job recruitment exams and providing answers using high-tech devices.
DB arrested Md. Jewel Khan, 40, Md. Russell, 30, Md. Mahmudul Hasan Shakil, 39, Md. Abdur Rahman, 38, Md. Ariful Islam, 35, Md. Azharul Islam, 29, and Md. Masum Howladar, 25 on Saturday.
On Sunday (May 12), DB chief Mohammad Haroon Or Rashid confirmed the matter while talking to reporters at his office on Mintu Road in the capital.
He said members of the gang used to solve the question papers in 10 minutes with help of the high tech devices.
Examinees with suggestion of the arrestees used to hide the high tech devices in their innerwear. At the same time, a miniature ball was connected and placed in the ear of the examinees, he said.
The gang has looted lakhs of taka by supplying exam question answers through sophisticated digital devices in various job recruitment exams, DB chief said.
The officer said depending on the job, MCQ written exam charges Tk 3 to 5 lakhs and Tk 8 to 10 lakhs for both the written and viva.
