Members of the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) today (May 12) arrested an alleged member of Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), a banned militant outfit, from Kotwali Police Station area in Jashore.

The arrestee Sijan Hossain, 19, was detained yesterday. 

Mahfujul Alam Russel, SP (Media and Awareness) of the ATU, disclosed the matter to journalists through a press release.

He said Sijan is a wanted in a case with Panchbibi Police Station under the Anti-Terrorism Act on 21 September last year, is an intermediate second year student at a college in Jashore.

He and his associates were spreading publicity on militancy on social media platforms, the official said.
