Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today (May 15) said battery-run rickshaws will not be allowed on the streets of the capital Dhaka.

The imposition of a ban on battery-operated rickshaws on Dhaka city streets is not enough, but it should be make sure, Quader directed the authorities concerned.

Quader was while addressing the first meeting of the advisory council formed under the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority Act, 2017 at BRTA's Banani office in the capital.

In the meeting, the mayors of the two city corporations of Dhaka agreed to stop autorickshaw movement between the cities.
