Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Friday (May 17) detained a key female leader of band militant outfit Kuki-Chin National Front's (KNF) from a hilly area in Bandarban Sadar Upazila.

The arrested Akim Bam is the chief coordinator of KNF women’s wing in Bandarban Sadar and Rowangchari areas. She has received military-grade training both at home and abroad.

RAB-15 Squadron Leader Touhidul Mubin Khan confirmed the matter to media.

Details were due to be provided at a press briefing at the Bandarban district’s central auditorium on Friday evening, he added.
