The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), in different operations in the last 24 hours till 6 am Thursday (July 11), arrested 26 persons for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.

Being informed, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, according to a DMP statement.

They seized 7,828 pieces of Yaba tablet, 5.8kg hemp, 139gm heroin, 75 bottles of phensedyl, and 5 pieces of injectable drug from their possessions, it added. 

According to the statement, 18 cases were filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
