The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against former Chattogram-4 lawmaker Didarul Alam and his wife, Ismat Ara Begum, on allegations of misuse of power, misconduct, and accumulating wealth beyond known income sources.

ACC Director General (Prevention) Akhter Hossain told journalists that Didarul Alam acquired illegal assets and properties worth approximately Tk 13.82 crore through misuse of power and criminal misconduct. 

Didarul deposited Tk 475.98 crore in 20 bank accounts and withdrew Tk 472.90 crore, while concealing the source of income for a total transaction amount of Tk 948.88 crore.

His wife, Ismat Ara Begum, allegedly acquired illegal wealth worth around Tk 1.47 crore with the help of her husband, also through misuse of power.
