Ferry link restored after 5-hr

MANIKGANJ: The ferry services on Paturia-Daulatia river route resumed on Wednesday morning after five and half hour disruption due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.

Earlier, the ferry service was halted at 3:00am due to poor visibility.

Confirming the matter, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Paturia Ghat Assistant manager (commerce) Bidyut Kumar Saha told banglanews, “The ferry link on the river route resumed around 9:00am after fog cleared.”

Sources said that using ten Ro-Ro ferries and two K-type ferries, the authorities are trying to keep continue the ferry services.

Besides, more than four hundred vehicles still remained stranded at the ferry terminals, he added.
