Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL) authorities hope that metro rail will start its operation from Sunday as the employees rejoined work on Tuesday (August 20).
Senior Secretary of Road Transport and Highways Department Ehsanul Haque visited Dhaka Press Club metro rail station this morning.
The senior officials of the Ministry including the Managing Director of DMTCL MAN Siddique were present.
At this time, the secretary discussed with the officials and employees about the speedy operation of Metrorail and provided instructions to take necessary measures in this regard.
However, the operations of the two stations at Kazipara and Mirpur-10 will remain closed for the time being due to need for repair and renovation, he said.
Earlier, on July 19, miscreants broke out into these two metro rail stations and carried out repulsive activities, in which they destroyed everything and looted valuable devices.
