Global leaders have expressed their support for the interim government of Bangladesh, now under the leadership of Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus.

In a letter addressed to Prof Yunus, the signatories under the banner of Nizami Ganjavi International Centre (NGIC), based in Azerbaijan's Baku, shared their congratulations and heartfelt good wishes, applauding his appointment as the Chief Adviser to the interim government.

The letter reflects on the struggles faced by Professor Yunus and others, stating, "Professor Yunus, like others in Bangladesh, has suffered under the yoke of autocracy."

The signatories celebrated the recent student-led movement that has brought about this political change, saying, "Thanks to the power of a democratic and student-led protest, that autocracy has been replaced by hope."

They echo Professor Yunus's declaration that "Bangladesh is now enjoying its second liberation, and it has the chance to fulfill its great potential as a nation.

The letter further highlights the positive shift in Bangladesh's political landscape, with the leaders expressing excitement for the new dawn for Bangladesh. “We have been proud to have supported Professor Yunus over the years. It is the beginning of an exciting new dawn for Bangladesh, and we wish him and the people of Bangladesh peace and success in the months and years ahead,” they said.

The world leaders also underscored their confidence in Professor Yunus’s ability to inspire the youth, both within the country and globally, asserting that "he will inspire them to play a leadership role in bringing a bright new future to Bangladesh."

They also applauded the interim government's commitment to democracy, noting, "We applaud the interim government’s commitment to bring free and fair elections back to Bangladesh and its commitment to allowing democracy to flourish."

In their concluding remarks, they pledged ongoing support for Bangladesh, stating, "We stand ready to help in any way we can to support the efforts of Bangladesh and the interim government to lead the world in creating a new and better civilization, as Professor Yunus has repeatedly called for."
