The driver of a microbus was killed and five others were injured in a collision between his microbus and a bus in Gopalganj Sadar upazila on Friday (August 23).

Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Officer-in-Charge of Gopalganj Sadar Thana Md Anisur Rahman confirmed the matter.

He said the accident occurred at around 12:30 pm at Pathalia on Dhaka-Khulna Highway, leaving the driver dead on the spot. The microbus was heading towards Khulna.

Injured people were admitted to Gopalganj General Hospital, he added.
