KISHOREGANJ: A Kishoreganj court Thursday placed a seven-day remand to Habibur Rahman Sohel alias Yusuf Munsi and his brother Idris in a case filed for burgling Tk 16.40 crore from a branch of Sonali Bank in the district.

Kishoreganj-1 Judicial Magistrate Hamidul Haque granted the remand.

Earlier in the day, Sadar Thana officer-in-charge Abdul Malek produced the culprits before the court and sought 10-day remand for each.

On Tuesday, Sohel and Idris were arrested from the capital with five sacks of money, which they looted from a Sonali Bank of Kishoreganj branch on Saturday.
