MANIKGANJ: A district court on Thursday awarded lifetime imprisonment to the bus driver and helper for their involvement in a much talked rape case.

District and Session Judge AKM Mostafa Dewan passed the order on Thursday morning.

The court also fined Tk 50,000 each, in default, the convict have to serve three-year more jail term.

The convicts’ are- Bus driver Dipu Mia and Helper Abul Kasem.

According to the case statement, on January 24, 2013, the convicts raped a garment worker in a running bus.
