Malaysia has sent back 45 Bangladeshis from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) after they were found moving suspiciously within the terminal.
The incident took place on Wednesday (Feb 19) local time.
The Malaysian Border Control Agency (AKPBS) detained 68 foreigners at the airport for suspicious behavior, including 45 Bangladeshis. They were later sent back.
In a statement, AKPBS said the detained individuals claimed to be tourists but did not proceed toward immigration counters. Instead, they were seen moving around food outlets and other areas, raising suspicion that they were waiting for someone special.
Following this, 16 Pakistanis, 45 Bangladeshis, and seven Indians were taken to the KLIA Immigration Operations Office. After verifying their documents, authorities issued them a Notice to Leave (NTL) instead of allowing them to enter Malaysia.
The agency further stated that, as of February 18, the highest number of NTL records had been issued within 24 hours.
