Government offices, courts, and educational institutions are open today (Saturday), as part of a revised holiday schedule ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

Despite the government announcing a 10-day holiday for Eid, offices will remain open on two Saturdays—May 17 and May 24—to compensate for additional days off granted around the festival.

The decision was finalised at an advisory council meeting on 6 May.

According to the revised schedule, the official Eid-ul-Azha holiday will run from 5 to 10 June. In addition, 11 and 12 June have also been declared holidays, followed by the regular weekly holidays, bringing the total break to 10 consecutive days.

Government, semi-government, and autonomous offices will operate on the selected Saturdays before Eid to accommodate this extended break.

Banks, private companies, and educational institutions are also following this adjusted schedule and remain open.
