The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds in various parts of the country over the next 24 hours, starting from 9:00 am Saturday (July 5).

According to the Met office bulletin issued this morning, rain or thundershowers are likely at most places in Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, and at many places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Mymensingh divisions.

The bulletin also warned that moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in some areas, potentially leading to waterlogging or localized flooding in low-lying regions.

Daytime temperatures may drop slightly, while nighttime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country.

On Friday, the highest temperature was recorded at 34°C in Dimla and Rangpur, while the lowest temperature on Saturday morning was 23.5°C in Tangail.

In the capital Dhaka, the sun is expected to set at 6:50 pm today and rise at 5:16 am tomorrow.

The Met Office has advised residents, especially in coastal and hilly regions, to stay alert for sudden weather changes and localized heavy rainfall.
