The final results of the 44th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination are set to be published on Monday (June 30) afternoon, according to officials at the Public Service Commission (PSC).
The results will be available on the PSC’s official website, sources at the commission confirmed earlier in the day.
Although there had been discussions about increasing the number of cadre posts by around 400 in the final recommendation, the expansion will not go ahead. As a result, the PSC will recommend candidates for only those positions announced in the original recruitment notice.
Two PSC officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said a proposal had been sent to the Advisory Council through the Ministry of Public Administration, seeking approval to add approximately 400 additional cadre posts. However, the Advisory Council rejected the request.
Instead, the Council recommended that the additional posts be incorporated into the upcoming 49th BCS, which may now see a relatively higher number of vacancies than initially anticipated.
The circular for the 44th BCS was issued on November 30, 2021, with the recruitment of 1,710 cadre officers across various sectors.
The largest allocation—776 posts—is in the education cadre, followed by 250 in administration, 50 in police, 30 in audit and accounts, 27 in family planning, 14 in the Ansar, and 10 in foreign affairs.
