The government has decided to transfer some police officials to that end sixteen senior officers have been relocated in a fresh reshuffle.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday (9 July). 

The order was signed by Md Mahbubur Rahman, Deputy Secretary of the Public Security Division.

According to the notification, among the officials moved are five Additional Deputy Inspectors General (Additional DIGs), ten Superintendents of Police (SPs), and one Additional Superintendent of Police.

Police Headquarters’ Rebeka Sultana has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), while Rajshahi’s Sardah Faisal Mahmud has been posted to Sylhet Range. Md Ashraful Islam of the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) has been moved to Police Headquarters. Faruk Ahmed from Police Headquarters will now serve at the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) Headquarters, and Md Mizanur Rahman of the Special Branch (SB) has been transferred to Dhaka’s TDS.

Among the Superintendents of Police, Dr A K M Akhtaruzzaman Basunia of Highway Police will join the DIG Office in Rangpur Range. Md Sakhawat Hossain from the Barishal In-Service Training Centre has been posted to Rajarbagh Police Telecom. Md Khairul Islam of Highway Police has been transferred to Tourist Police, while Khondaker Nur Rezwana Parveen, earlier assigned to PBI, will serve at Police Headquarters.

Other postings include Mir Abu Touhid of Noakhali Police Training Centre to CID, Md Mizanur Rahman of Tourist Police to APBn, and Abul Bashar Mohammad Atikur Rahman, Deputy Police Commissioner in Khulna, to CID.

Saikat Shaheen from the Kushtia In-Service Training Centre has been transferred to Industrial Police, Kazi Md Abdur Rahim of ATU to the Chattogram Range DIG Office
