Bangladesh has welcomed the ongoing dialogue between Hamas and Israel aimed at ending the war in Gaza, expressing hope that the initiative will lead to lasting peace and the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Bangladesh firmly believes that “diplomacy and dialogue are the only means to resolve any conflict.”
The government commended all stakeholders involved in facilitating the peace process and urged for intensified efforts to end the prolonged humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
“Bangladesh hopes that, by ending the ongoing war in Gaza, this diplomatic process would pave the way for the realization of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine,” the statement read.
Dhaka expressed optimism that the ongoing talks would result in an immediate ceasefire, the resumption of humanitarian assistance, and an end to the immense suffering of the Palestinian people.
Reaffirming its unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian cause, Bangladesh reiterated its steadfast support for a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.
The statement further said Bangladesh stands ready to contribute to peacekeeping and reconstruction efforts in Gaza, underscoring its continued commitment to promoting peace, stability, and justice in the Middle East.
Bangladesh has consistently voiced strong support for the Palestinian people at international forums and has repeatedly called for an end to the ongoing violence and occupation.
The country maintains that sustainable peace in the region can only be achieved through meaningful dialogue, respect for international law, and the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state living side by side with Israel in peace and security.
