German Ambassador to Bangladesh Dr. Rüdiger Lotz met with Indra Mani Pandey, Secretary-General of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC), in Dhaka on Monday.

The courtesy meeting took place at the BIMSTEC Secretariat, where the Secretary-General welcomed the ambassador and briefed him on the organization’s mandate, ongoing initiatives, and cooperation mechanisms with non-member partners aimed at enhancing regional collaboration.

According to a statement from BIMSTEC, Pandey outlined the bloc’s efforts to strengthen connectivity, economic integration, and partnership within the Bay of Bengal region.

Ambassador Lotz commended BIMSTEC’s progress and underscored its vital role in promoting regional cohesion and development.
